This program is designed to accommodate those working full time.FTTI promotes clinical excellence through real-world experience alongside exceptional and experienced clinical therapists and supervisors. The training of culturally competent therapists for underserved and minority communities is at the core of FTTI’s mission. Tuition assistance is available for select minority students. As part of Aurora Health Care and Aurora Family Service, the FTTI program provides students with exposure to a wide variety of experiences, while providing critical support to families. FTTI serves the mission of strengthening families and communities both through the counseling provided by trainees and by preparing the next generation of family therapists to serve the needs and challenges of families”

UW Stout

Established in 1974, UW-Stout’s Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT) program is recognized for its unprecedented history of training competent therapists who are successful entering the profession.  It is one of the two longest COAMFTE accredited programs in the nation. Our program is rigorous…our graduates are successful and outstanding.  The curriculum meets the MFT educational licensing requirements of Wisconsin, Minnesota and many other states;  prepares graduates for the Association of Marriage and Family Therapy Regulatory Boards “National” licensing exam; and meets the standards of the Commission on Accreditation for Marriage and Family Therapy Education (COAMFTE).  Thus, our graduates enter the MFT profession with a solid foundation upon which they build successful careers.  It is a 56 credit, two year, full-time only program that compresses coursework into two-days a week the first year, and three or more days a week the second year depending on the clinical practicum.

Edgewood College

The COAMFTE approved master’s program in marriage and family therapy at Edgewood College in Madison, WI, is one of the leading mental health training programs in the Midwest.  In 2008 US News & World Report ranked the program the 3rd best in the nation when compared to similar programs.  One of the hallmarks of the MFT program is it emphasis on personalized instruction by faculty who are dedicated educators, highly-experienced therapists, and leaders in the field.  Students will find a strong emphasis on examination of personal development, and how this influences and impacts their therapeutic conceptualizations and interventions with individuals, couples, families, and the larger society.  The program draws students from the local region, nationally, and internationally.  When recent applicants were surveyed regarding why they chose to apply to Edgewood’s graduate MFT program, the most common response was Edgewood’s commitment to excellence and rigor in training competent therapists and future leaders in the field.  We welcome and value applicants from a wide variety of backgrounds and life circumstances to meet the increasing needs and challenges of a complex and diverse society.
